The purpose of these videos is to show and compare two different practice environments; one in the family room and the other at the driving range. To operate the videos, first select a club button and then start one video at a time, either the family room or the driving range. In this manner you can compare the same club in two different environments to see if there are any perceptual differences in the golf swings with the same club. You will notice that the swings are virtually identical with the same club whether it is swung at home or at the driving range. What you can see in the family room that you may not see on the driving range is that Chris was asked to hit 3 different shots: a pull left, a push right, and a straight shot. In the family room, the resulting shot patterns are clearly recognizable.
The first shot was actually a fade to the right. The second shot was actually a push to the right. And, the third shot was actually a slice (see Practice Tips for a more in depth discussion). The point of this demonstration is to show that a golfer can practice the same way at home – indoors as he can practice outdoor at the driving range. This allows the golfer to save time and money; to reduce stress on the body; to conserve energy; to practice more efficiently; to practice any time of day in any weather; to learn quicker and develop a deeper understanding of the golf swing. For these reasons, the GurfBall is not only changing the way golfers practice, it’s changing the way the golf swing is being taught!
